• FIB 2011, Benicàssim

Benicassim has something to offer across the whole musical spectrum, as indie and rock bands rub shoulders with DJs and more experimental music projects.

Established in 1994 and now in its 17th year, the International Benicàssim Festival, FIB Heineken, near Valencia, Spain is back for 2011 from Thursday 14th until Sunday 17th July.

With camping thrown in with the ticket price, all night music over 4 days, and sited just walking distance from the beach and a huge water park.

Benicassim, or ‘FIB’ as it is affectionately known, presents the perfect combination of a holiday and a music festival.

Set alongside a summer resort packed with artificial beaches, Benicassim seems almost like the ready-made place for music lovers holidaying with mates.

Four days of some of the best music from the electro, pop, indie and rock scenes are held across the Main Stages and several smaller stages. Unlike most festivals, acts at Benicassim perform in the later hours and through the night rather than in the afternoon and evenings – headline acts hitting the stages at around 1am with the party lasting until 8am, perfect for the up all night/sleep all day crowd.

Last year Gorrillaz, Kasabian, Temper Trap and Goldfrapp were all amongst the big names at Benicassim. 2011 will bring The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Elbow and more to the Spanish shores this summer.
